Alan Jones trial: Former host Jason Morrison denies covering for broadcaster
Former 2GB broadcaster Jason Morrison testified in the Downing Centre Local Court regarding the indecent assault trial of Alan Jones. Jones, 85, is facing 20 counts of indecent assault and two counts of sexual touching. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
The allegations involve an incident at a Sydney restaurant nearly 20 years ago. A complainant, referred to as “C”, testified that Jones touched him inappropriately under a table during a lunch. Morrison, currently the chief of staff at The Daily Telegraph, testified that he did not witness any such behavior and denied allegations from the prosecution that he was providing a “harmless” account to protect his former colleague.
Morrison stated that he felt “terribly” for the complainant regarding the proceedings but maintained that he did not see anything untoward. He told the court that had he witnessed any misconduct, it would have been addressed with management at the radio station at the time.
