Former broadcaster Alan Jones, 85, will stand trial in Sydney’s Downing Centre Local Court on 3 August 2026. He has pleaded not guilty to 22 charges – 20 counts of indecent assault and two of sexual touching – involving six complainants, with alleged incidents spanning 2003 to 2020 at his harbour‑side apartment, a farm at Fitzroy Falls and other Sydney venues.

Jones’s defence team, led by barrister Gabrielle Bashir SC, abandoned a pre‑trial motion that sought a stay of the proceedings or the exclusion of evidence from electronic devices seized from his home on 18 November 2024, saying the issue could be addressed during the trial. Judge Glenn Walsh confirmed the trial will proceed and permitted prosecutors to rely on circumstantial evidence of tendency and coincidence.

Jones said he is “anxious to have his day in court” and wants the case to start as scheduled.
