Alan Jones trial: Witness denies seeing alleged assault
Broadcaster Alan Jones, 85, is standing trial in Sydney’s Downing Centre Local Court, facing 20 counts of indecent assault and two counts of sexual touching without consent. The charges involve six male complainants and cover a period between 2003 and 2020.
During the proceedings, former 2GB host Jason Morrison testified that he did not witness Jones touching a complainant, referred to as “C”, under a table during a lunch approximately 20 years ago. Morrison denied allegations that he was tailoring his evidence to assist Jones, stating that while there was “banter” among guests regarding Jones and the complainant looking like a “great couple,” he saw nothing untoward and noted the complainant appeared to be smiling.
One complainant alleged that Jones touched his penis over his clothing during the lunch and that the incident left him feeling embarrassed. Jones has pleaded not guilty to all charges and denies the allegations.
