Alaska Airlines updates Atmos Rewards earning methods

Alaska Airlines is expanding its Atmos Rewards program, introducing new options for how members accumulate points. Starting in January 2027, travelers can choose between three different earning structures: based on flight distance, ticket price, or segments flown. This selection can only be changed once per calendar year.

These changes will impact how points and elite status are earned across Alaska, American, and Hawaiian Airlines flights. Additionally, the airline has launched six Atmos Rewards Communities, which allow members to select specific perks such as bonus points, status boosts, and award rebates based on their individual travel habits. These communities are available at no cost to join.
