Atmos Rewards loyalty program developments
Overview
The Atmos Rewards loyalty program, a joint initiative between Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines, has expanded its redemption options and promotional offerings.
In late July 2026, the program established a partnership with Philippine Airlines, allowing members to redeem points for business class seats on nonstop routes from several U.S. cities to Manila.
By August 2026, the program introduced ‘Global Getaways’ promotions, offering discounted economy award fares to various international destinations, including cities in Europe, Asia, and Australia. These deals, available for booking through August 8, 2026, for travel through February 28, 2027, include routes to cities such as Edinburgh, Madrid, Budapest, Rome, Osaka, Hong Kong, and Sydney. Some short-haul economy awards start at 20,000 points each way, and the program allows for free stopovers of up to 14 days.
The program features two co-branded credit cards issued by Bank of America: the Atmos Rewards Ascent Visa Signature, with a $95 annual fee, and the premium Atmos Rewards Summit Visa Infinite, which carries a $395 annual fee. The Summit card provides enhanced perks, such as higher earning rates on dining and foreign transactions, and credits for TSA PreCheck or Global Entry. Additionally, Summit or Hawaiian cardholders receive free point transfers.
While the program offers advantages like easy, free award changes and beneficial award charts for routes to Oceania, Asia, and South America, it faces limitations. Its route network is less extensive than competitors like Delta, United, and American Airlines. Currently, awards involving multiple partners are restricted to American Airlines, British Airways, and Finnair. Furthermore, a $20 partner award booking fee applies unless the traveler holds a Summit card.
