In late September 2026, Alaska Air Group announced updates to provide members with more customizable earning methods. For flights departing on or after January 1, 2027, members can select from three earning models: distance traveled (1 point per mile), price paid (5 points per $1 spent on airfare and premium upgrades), or segments flown (a flat 500 points per segment). This selection can only be changed once per calendar year and will impact how points and elite status are earned across Alaska, American, and Hawaiian Airlines flights.
Additionally, the airline launched six Atmos Rewards Communities, which allow members to join at no cost to select specific perks, such as bonus points, status boosts, and award rebates. In October 2026, the program introduced elevated welcome offers for its co-branded credit cards. The premium Atmos Rewards Summit Visa Infinite offers 100,000 points and a 25,000-point Global Companion Award, while the Ascent Visa Signature and the Visa Signature Business Card offer tiered point bonuses and companion fares.
