Romanian road accidents expose risks for pedestrians and truck drivers

A near‑miss incident in Alba Iulia captured on video showed a pedestrian almost being run over when a driver on the second lane failed to slow down at a crossing. Police are investigating the driver’s identity and possible sanctions.

On the Craiova‑Pitești Express (DEx12) a truck collided with a car near Negreni in Olt County. Police said the 47‑year‑old truck driver was distracted, causing material damage but no injuries. A similar collision on the same expressway near Craiova highlighted the dangers of stopping on the shoulder and the need for proper safety measures such as reflective triangles and maintaining safe distances.
