Alba Iulia resumes public transport after two-month suspension

Public transport services in Alba Iulia are set to resume this Monday following a nearly two-month suspension that began on June 17. The resumption comes after the municipality and a private operator reached an agreement regarding compensation payments.

Mayor Gabriel Pleșa announced that the municipality will pay monthly compensations to sustain the service. The payments are projected to be 2 million lei per month for August and September, increasing to 2.7 million lei per month for the final three months of the year.

Despite this agreement to restart operations, legal disputes between the city hall and the private transport company regarding outstanding debts remain ongoing in court.
