Spain celebrates Virgen del Pilar and regional holidays

Virgen del Pilar Guardia Civil religious festivities community celebrations Spain

Various regions in Spain are holding celebrations for the feast of the Virgen del Pilar, the patron saint of the Guardia Civil, and the Day of the Valencian Community.

In Andalusia, the Guardia Civil in Jaén organized an open house for students to view specialized equipment, including aerial services, explosives disposal, and canine units. Similarly, in Córdoba, nearly a thousand students visited the Victoria barracks to observe helicopter landings, drone demonstrations, and police simulations.

In Albacete, the Guardia Civil organized the VIII Virgen del Pilar Popular Race, a solidarity event with proceeds benefiting ASPAYM Albacete to support people with physical disabilities. Religious processions and triduums are also scheduled in Marchena.

In the Valencian Community, Alicante is preparing for the Day of the Community with fireworks, traditional dances, and musical performances. In Torrevieja, institutional acts will include the raising of the Senyera and honors for Civil Protection volunteers.
