Albania police chief warns of coordinated cyber attack targeting tourism businesses

General Director of the State Police, Skënder Hita, announced a serious concern over a suspected coordinated cyber activity aimed at Albanian businesses in the tourism sector. Investigators have identified more than 10,000 online accounts that appear to have posted massive numbers of negative reviews and comments about hotels, restaurants, resorts and other tourist facilities across the country.

If confirmed, the campaign could damage individual enterprises, undermine fair competition, erode consumer trust and harm Albania’s reputation as a safe and welcoming tourist destination. Police investigations are ongoing to determine the perpetrators and their motives.
