Albania to deploy military personnel to Gaza mission

Albanian President Bajram Begaj has decreed Law No. 98/2026, authorizing the participation of the Albanian Armed Forces in the military operations of the International Stability Force in Gaza. The decision follows approval by the Assembly upon a proposal from the Council of Ministers.

The Albanian contingent will be limited to a maximum of 40 personnel. Their primary duties include supporting security and stability operations, protecting personnel, objects, and mission infrastructure, assisting humanitarian operations, and monitoring and reporting on the security situation.

The legislation also outlines financial provisions for participating soldiers, stating they will receive monthly salaries plus additional allowances for the duration of their service in the international operation. The law will enter into force 15 days after its publication in the Official Gazette.
