Albania U-21 squad announced for Taranto 2026 Mediterranean Games

Albania's U-21 national football team has announced its squad for the Taranto 2026 Mediterranean Games in Italy. Coach Alban Bushi released a roster featuring a mix of players from the Albanian Superiore and First Division, alongside talents playing in European academies in countries such as the Netherlands, Greece, and Italy.

Albania is placed in Group B, where they will face Italy, Kosovo, and Algeria. The team is scheduled to begin the competition on August 22 with a match against Italy in Lecce. Coach Bushi emphasized that the squad, composed largely of young players born in 2006, 2007, and 2008, aims to compete for qualification rather than just participating. He noted that despite limited preparation time and the fact that some domestic leagues have not yet started, the objective is to showcase the character and mentality of Albanian football on an international stage.
