Albanian Border Police rescue nine foreign tourists in Himarë and Ksamil
Albanian Border Police and the Maritime Police carried out two separate rescue operations on the same day. In Himarë, a Spanish tourist was stranded after his kayak capsized near the Filikuri area; police located, retrieved him from the water and brought him safely to the Himarë border checkpoint. Later in Ksamil, eight Brazilian tourists from the same family were in danger when their plastic raft drifted toward the hazardous "Three Islands" zone; officers used a rescue rope and a jet‑ski to pull the raft to the Puerto Rico beach and escort the tourists to safety. All nine tourists were rescued without injury and expressed gratitude for the rapid, professional response. Police officials urged boaters to follow navigation rules, use safety equipment and avoid risky areas.
