Albanian Democratic Party calls for investigation into Mirela Kumbaro’s assets

The Democratic Party (PD) of Albania has called for a formal investigation into the assets of Minister Mirela Kumbaro. Anti-corruption spokesperson Genta Vangjeli raised concerns regarding discrepancies in Kumbaro’s financial declarations.

Key points of contention include the ownership of seven apartments and inconsistencies in property valuations. Specifically, the PD highlighted two 18-square-meter garages: one declared by Kumbaro in 2021 for 12,800 euros, and another declared by her husband in 2025 for 2,000 euros. The party also questioned the source of her husband’s income, noting he received honorariums from the AADF foundation in 2015, an entity with close ties to the Ministry of Culture during Kumbaro’s tenure.

The PD is requesting that SPAK and ILDKPKI conduct a full verification of the family’s assets, income sources, property gifts, and sales transactions to address these alleged inconsistencies.
