Albanian Development Fund faces scrutiny over infrastructure projects

The Albanian Development Fund (FSHZH) is facing criticism regarding the quality and management of public investments in Saranda. Reports indicate that newly paved stone mosaic roads require frequent, costly repairs due to poor construction, creating a cycle of continuous maintenance. Additionally, the new bus terminal at Qafë Gjashtë has reportedly experienced roof leaks only months after its inauguration, posing safety risks.

Separately, the FSHZH has announced a 10 million euro tender to modernize public transport. The two-year, state-funded project aims to purchase 23 electric and hybrid vehicles, including 12 standard electric buses, 7 electric tourist minibuses, and 4 hybrid buses. The plan includes the installation of 20 charging stations and the creation of 54 smart stations equipped with solar lighting and QR codes. The project will utilize an artificial intelligence platform to manage schedules, energy consumption, and passenger information in real time.
