Albanian nationals killed in Crete motorcycle crash

Two Albanian men, Edison Xhaka, 28, from Elbasan, and Aleksandër Toçila, 34, from Gramsh, died in a fatal motorcycle accident on the Greek island of Crete. The crash occurred early Friday (around 03:00) on the Kissamos–Hania road near Kolymbaria when the motorcycle left the road for unknown reasons and struck a metal safety barrier. Emergency teams could not revive the victims.

Xhaka had been living and working in the Kissamos area for years, while Toçila was in Crete for work purposes. The Albanian community on Crete expressed grief, and the Albanian association “Kastel” in Kissamos organized condolence gatherings for both families. Greek authorities are continuing investigations to determine the exact cause of the accident.
