Primary Care Alberta has launched a new online guide, screeningforlife.ca, to assist residents in navigating cancer screening recommendations. The interactive tool is designed to help Albertans understand when to begin screening for breast, cervical, and colorectal cancers.

In conjunction with the launch, the agency announced a transition toward paperless cancer screening notifications. Starting in the fall of 2026, mailed invitations and reminders will be phased out where possible, with patients instead receiving information through the MyHealthAlberta MyChart online platform.

Primary and Preventative Health Services Minister Justin Wright stated that the guide provides clear information to help citizens protect their health through early detection. Kimberley Simmonds, CEO of Primary Care Alberta, noted the goal is to empower residents to make informed decisions to reduce cancer cases and deaths across the province.
