Alberto Biglieri leads Lista 3 candidacy for Argentina's National Council of the Magistracy

Candidates for the National Council of the Magistracy (Consejo de la Magistratura de la Nación) are campaigning ahead of the October 20 elections, which will determine the four representatives for the 2026-2030 period. Alberto Biglieri leads 'Lista 3 Unidad en Defensa de la Abogacía,' a slate that has received support from figures such as Joaquín de la Torre and Ricardo Gil Lavedra.

Eduardo Bittar, president of the Córdoba Bar Association and a candidate on the list, is advocating for a federal agenda to ensure Córdoba has a stronger voice within the national council. His proposals include modernizing the judiciary, protecting professional fees, and reforming competition regulations to ensure that the experience of independent lawyers is valued equally with those pursuing judicial careers.

The election involves approximately 184,000 lawyers with federal registration across Argentina. The Council is responsible for selecting federal and national judges through merit-based competitions and overseeing the discipline of magistrates.
