Alberto Núñez Feijóo defends Ceuta and Melilla sovereignty and proposes new fiscal plan

Alberto Núñez Feijóo, leader of the Spanish Popular Party (PP), has addressed two major political issues: the sovereignty of Ceuta and Melilla and a new economic plan to combat inflation.

Regarding territorial integrity, Feijóo asserted that the Spanish status of Ceuta and Melilla is not subject to negotiation, supporting recent statements by the presidents of both cities. He emphasized that these territories have been part of Spain for centuries and possess the same rights as any other Spanish region, rejecting comparisons to non-autonomous territories like Gibraltar or Western Sahara.

On economic policy, Feijóo introduced a 'Shock Plan for Improving Purchasing Power.' The proposal includes implementing a 0% VAT on basic food items, such as milk, oil, and vegetables, and reducing the VAT on energy from 21% to 10%. Additionally, the plan calls for doubling tax deductions for children in the IRPF on a temporary basis from August to December and adjusting income tax rates to align with inflation.
