Albi police officer rescues man from bridge jump
A police officer rescued a man who jumped from the Pont Neuf bridge in Albi, France, on Sunday, October 4. The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. in front of numerous witnesses.
A member of the Albi police station’s Brigade anti-criminalité (BAC) arrived at the scene before emergency services and jumped into the water to reach the victim. The officer managed to secure the man behind a bridge pillar near the Mercure hotel while waiting for firefighters.
The victim was transported to the Albi hospital and is reported to be in stable condition. The officer, who remained in the water for approximately 40 minutes, suffered from mild hypothermia.
