Police rescue in Albi, France
Overview
On October 4, a member of the Albi police station’s Brigade anti-criminalité (BAC) rescued a man who jumped from the Pont Neuf bridge into the Tarn river. The officer entered the water and held the individual near a bridge pillar for approximately 40 minutes until firefighters arrived.
The victim, who had been swept away by the current, sustained injuries to his legs and cervical spine. He was transported to Albi hospital and reported to be in stable, non-life-threatening condition. The responding officer suffered from mild hypothermia during the intervention.
