Italy municipal updates: Stadium redevelopment and local infrastructure projects

Various Italian municipalities are managing local infrastructure and administrative developments. In Florence, the City Council has declared the public interest of ACF Fiorentina’s proposal for the redevelopment and management of the Artemio Franchi Stadium. The plan involves a 60-year concession with approximately 101 million euros in private investment to cover construction, maintenance, and the preservation of the Nervi-designed structures.

In Larino, a new municipal nursery school in Via Novelli is set for inauguration on October 20, 2026, following a 626,000 euro investment supported by PNRR funds. In Mineo, Mayor Giuseppe Mistretta is overseeing urban redevelopment and seeking 7 million euros in environmental compensation funds. Meanwhile, Cuneo is exploring alternative management strategies for the Cascina Vecchia property after a lack of private offers during a recent auction.

Other local issues include Meda’s upcoming council session regarding BrianzAcque-BEA aggregation and municipal treasury services, and labor disputes in Oriolo where the CGIL union has criticized the administration for reducing worker hours while allocating 15,000 euros to legal fees. In Messina, local officials are seeking clarity on the outcome of a public notice for the acquisition and concession of municipal real estate.
