BrianzAcque and BEA Group merger process

Overview

The proposed corporate aggregation between the public water utility BrianzAcque and the BEA Group, which includes Brianza Energia Ambiente and BEA Gestioni, has moved from public sentiment assessment to local administrative review.

A September 2026 customer satisfaction survey indicated strong public approval for the utility, with nine out of ten users expressing support for the planned merger into a new integrated public entity. The survey also reported high satisfaction levels regarding water quality, service channels, and overall supply continuity.

By October 2026, the Albiate City Council scheduled discussions to address the merger. The council's agenda includes reviewing communications from the Corte dei Conti (Court of Auditors) concerning previous deliberations on the aggregation, as well as approving amendments to the BrianzAcque statute and regulations for joint control.

In mid-October 2026, the municipality of Meda prepared for an upcoming council session to further address the BrianzAcque-BEA aggregation alongside matters regarding municipal treasury services.
