Albolote school cafeteria investigation launched over larvae in rice

The Junta de Andalucía has launched an investigation following the discovery of larvae in rice served at the CEIP El Tínar school cafeteria in Albolote. The issue was brought to light after a complaint from the school's parents' association regarding rice served last week.

The catering company responsible for the service issued an apology and stated they are conducting their own internal investigation. The company maintains that the product used was certified organic brown rice and that all food safety records, including production, transport, and temperature controls, are in order.

The Delegation of Education has conducted an inspection and requested necessary documentation from the provider to clarify the incident and address any service deficiencies.
