Aldi Süd offers Barissimo coffee beans at 8.99 euros per kilogram
Aldi Süd is implementing an aggressive pricing strategy for coffee to combat inflation, offering its private label Barissimo whole coffee beans for 8.99 euros per kilogram. This price point is significantly lower than many established brand-name products and reflects intense competition among discount retailers.
Barissimo, which replaced previous Aldi lines such as Amaroy and Tizio, typically utilizes a blend of Arabica and Robusta beans to maintain affordability. While Robusta is more cost-effective, it provides a strong crema and intense flavor. The raw coffee is sourced from various regions, including Central and South America, East Africa, and Asia. Aldi works with experienced roasting partners, though the specific roasteries for each product are not disclosed.
