Aldi Nord recalls turkey schnitzel due to plastic contamination

Aldi Nord has issued a product recall for a specific batch of ‘Meine Metzgerei’ Fresh Turkey Schnitzel ‘Wiener Art’ due to the potential presence of sharp plastic fragments. The manufacturer, Heidemark Landfrische GmbH & Co. KG, reported that these foreign objects may have entered the product during the production process.

The recall poses a risk of injury or choking, specifically potential damage to the mouth, throat, esophagus, or gastrointestinal tract. The affected product is the 800-gram package with a production date of September 2, 2026, or September 7, 2026, and a best-before date of September 28, 2026 (Batch number 062640).

Consumers who purchased the affected items are advised not to consume them and can return the product to their local Aldi store for a full refund, even without a receipt. The recall affects several German states, including Brandenburg, Berlin, Bremen, Hessen, Lower Saxony, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, North Rhine-Westphalia, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Schleswig-Holstein, and Thuringia.
