Food product recalls in Germany

Overview

In September 2026, multiple food recalls were issued in Germany due to potential plastic contamination in frozen and fresh products.

On September 8, Netto Marken-Discount recalled Snackmaster Rösti-Fries (450g) manufactured by Schne-frost Ernst Schnetkamp GmbH & Co. KG. The recall was initiated because of the potential presence of plastic fragments, which pose a “choking hazard” and risks of injury to the mouth, throat, or gastrointestinal tract.

Following this, on September 24, Aldi Nord issued a recall for ‘Meine Metzgerei’ Fresh Turkey Schnitzel ‘Wiener Art’ (800g) produced by Heidemark Landfrische GmbH & Co. KG. Similar to the previous incident, the manufacturer reported that sharp plastic fragments may have entered the product during production, creating risks of injury or choking.
