Aldi UK announces priority sites for new stores across the country

Aldi has published a list of 160 priority locations for new stores in the United Kingdom as part of its £370 million investment to open around 40 stores this year and work toward a long‑term target of 1,500 outlets. The locations span England, Scotland, Wales and include towns such as Ayr South, Blantyre, Canvey Island, Croxteth, Exeter Central, Falkirk Central, Gateshead – Team Valley, Guildford, Harrogate, Hereford, Huddersfield, Leeds Horsforth Low Lane, Lincoln, Monmouth, Newcastle (Central), Oxford, Plymouth West, St Albans, Woking and Whitby, among others.

Aldi says the expansion will improve access to affordable, high‑quality food, create new jobs and maintain its position as the UK’s highest‑paying supermarket, with entry‑level wages of £13.50 an hour nationally and £14.88 within the M25. The retailer is seeking freehold, leasehold or long‑lease sites and encourages landowners to contact its real‑estate team.
