North Macedonia police to implement digital and structural reforms
Aleksandar Janev, Director of the Bureau for Public Security, has announced a series of reforms and capacity-building initiatives for the North Macedonian police. During a workshop in Skopje focused on computer crime investigations, Janev emphasized the need for sophisticated investigative approaches to combat digital and hybrid security threats.
The training, supported by the U.S. Embassy, the U.S. Department of Justice, and ICITAP, aims to enhance professional capabilities through cooperation with the FBI. This partnership focuses on modern investigative methods, the detection of cybercrime, and the securing of digital evidence from online platforms.
In addition to digital advancements, Janev outlined broader organizational reforms during a meeting in Veles. These plans include digitalization, the introduction of new operational tools, and the formation of new intervention teams in regional sectors to improve operational readiness and efficiency.
