Aleksandar Nikoloski Announces New Express Road and Railway Tunnel Projects in North Macedonia

Deputy Prime Minister and Transport Minister Aleksandar Nikoloski attended a party event in Novo Selo, where he announced the construction of an express road linking Radovis, Strumica and Novo Selo. He also highlighted the opening of a direct Geneva‑Skopje flight, launched at the request of the diaspora to facilitate travel back to North Macedonia. Nikoloski later spoke about the next phase of the EU‑backed Corridor 8 railway. He confirmed the signing of financing agreements for the Kriva Palanka‑Dve Bar railway section and a cross‑border tunnel with Bulgaria. The project has secured €149 million in EU grant funding, with construction expected to start later this year and a tender already underway.
