Aleksandar Vučić announces New York speech amid Mladić intelligence allegations

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has announced plans to travel to New York after September 16 to deliver a speech regarding the suffering of the Serbian people. Vučić stated that his address would focus on the historical challenges faced by Serbia since the 1990s, aiming to provide a historical lesson for other nations.

Separately, political controversy has emerged regarding the 2011 arrest of Ratko Mladić. Srđan Milivojević, president of the Democratic Party, alleged that Vučić provided critical information regarding Mladić’s location, logistics, and financing to Miodrag Rakić, a former chief of staff and security coordinator, rather than to the judiciary.

Bruno Vekarić of the War Crimes Prosecutor's Office in Serbia has denied these claims, stating that the prosecution received no such information from Vučić regarding Mladić’s whereabouts.
