Serbia and Montenegro leaders present economic and election platforms FAST-MOVING

Political activity in Serbia and Montenegro is intensifying ahead of the October 25 parliamentary elections. In Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić has outlined several economic and infrastructure priorities, including the continued operation of the Kolubara mining basin and a promise to increase pensions by over 10 percent if GDP growth exceeds 4.2 percent. The OSCE is deploying approximately 80 observers to monitor the electoral process. Opposition groups, such as 'European Serbia', are campaigning on anti-corruption measures and closer integration with the European Union.

In Montenegro, political leaders are presenting competing economic visions. Dritan Abazović of the URA party is advocating for lower fuel prices through VAT reductions, while Danijel Živković of the DPS proposes reducing corporate profit tax from 15 to 9 percent. Additionally, Prime Minister Milojko Spajić has emphasized the necessity of adopting a Euro model to stabilize the economy against external inflationary pressures.
