Aleksander Aamodt Kilde suffers Achilles tendon tear in Chile

Norwegian alpine skier Aleksander Aamodt Kilde has suffered a torn Achilles tendon during a downhill training session in Chile. The injury represents a significant setback for the 33-year-old speed specialist, who had been working toward a World Cup comeback following a series of severe injuries.

Kilde’s recent medical history includes a major crash in Wengen in January 2024, which resulted in deep lacerations and a severe shoulder injury, as well as complications involving joint inflammation and blood poisoning. This latest injury is expected to require several months of recovery, though the exact timeline for his return to training has not yet been determined.
