Alessandro Di Battista to return to Italy from Cuba on September 4

Alessandro Di Battista, a former Italian Member of Parliament, is recovering after a sudden medical emergency in Cuba. While in the country to conduct journalistic reportage, Di Battista suffered a severe headache and loss of consciousness. He was treated at the Hermanos Ameijeiras Hospital in Havana, following an initial hospitalization in Santa Clara.

Medical specialists from Rome’s Gemelli Hospital were dispatched to Havana to assist Cuban doctors in monitoring his condition. Di Battista has since communicated via social media that he is feeling better and is optimistic about his recovery. He has announced that he will return to Italy on September 4 via air ambulance, with the costs to be covered by his private insurance policy.

During his recovery, Di Battista used his platform to comment on the situation in Gaza, noting that many Palestinian medical professionals had been trained in Cuba. The incident has drawn significant attention from Italian political figures and media outlets.
