Alessandro Di Battista's return from Cuba delayed following medical emergency
Alessandro Di Battista, the former M5S deputy and founder of the Schierarsi Association, is undergoing medical treatment in Cuba following a sudden health crisis. After experiencing a severe headache and temporary loss of consciousness, he was initially hospitalized in Santa Clara before being transferred to the Hermanos Ameijeiras Hospital in Havana.
To assist with his care, a specialized medical team including a neurosurgeon and an intensive care specialist from Rome’s Policlinico Gemelli was dispatched to Havana. While Di Battista expressed optimism regarding his recovery, his planned return to Italy via air ambulance has faced delays. The Schierarsi Association has requested discretion and prudence regarding further updates on his condition.
Di Battista confirmed that the costs for the private medical flight are covered by an insurance policy he secured prior to his trip to Cuba. Upon his eventual return to Italy, he is expected to continue his recovery at the Policlinico Gemelli.
