Alessandro Langella appointed new Guardia di Finanza commander in Palermo

Brigadier General Alessandro Langella has assumed command of the Guardia di Finanza Provincial Command in Palermo, succeeding Brigadier General Domenico Napolitano. The military handover ceremony took place at the Caserma Mazzarella in the presence of Regional Commander for Sicily, Division General Stefano Lombardi.

General Napolitano is transitioning to a new role as the Commander of the Central Service for Investigations into Organized Crime in Rome. During his four-year tenure in Palermo, Napolitano oversaw several major operations, including the seizure of four illegal cigarette factories and approximately 80 tons of processed foreign tobacco. His term also included the seizure of over 5 tons of cocaine and a major anti-mafia operation involving international money laundering that extended to Brazil and Switzerland.
