Alessio Romagnoli Completes Transfer from Lazio to Al‑Sadd

Italian centre‑back Alessio Romagnoli has finalized his move from Serie A side Lazio to Qatari club Al‑Sadd, ending a six‑month transfer saga. After a stalled January attempt, the clubs agreed on a fee of roughly €3 million, considerably lower than earlier expectations, allowing Lazio to strengthen its financial balance.

Romagnoli, 31, signed a three‑year contract with Al‑Sadd that includes an annual salary of about €6 million. The defender, a former AC Milan captain who joined Lazio in 2022, had been listed as one of the club’s key players but cited strained relations with Lazio’s hierarchy as a factor in his departure. The transfer marks his first venture outside Italy, moving to the Qatar Stars League.
