Alexander Kadiev fined for using phone while driving in Bulgaria

Actor and TV host Alexander Kadiev posted a video of himself driving a convertible in a storm while his daughter sat in the car. After the clip spread online, the Road Police opened an investigation and sanctioned Kadiev for holding a mobile phone while operating the vehicle. Under Bulgarian traffic law (Article 183, paragraph 4, item 6), the offence carries a fine of 51 euros and the removal of eight penalty points.

Police can act on direct observations or on citizen reports that include video or photographic evidence. The Kadiev case follows several recent incidents involving Bulgarian influencers who posted dangerous driving footage, leading to fines, licence suspensions and vehicle confiscations. These examples illustrate how social‑media content is increasingly used as evidence for traffic violations.
