Alexander Nübel joins Beşiktaş on three‑year deal
German goalkeeper Alexander Nübel completed a three‑year transfer from Bayern Munich to Turkish side Beşiktaş. He told the club’s YouTube channel that he was approached while at the 2026 World Cup, saying “big club and crazy fans” sparked his decision. Nübel expressed excitement about his first match, wanting to feel the derby atmosphere and help the team win European nights.
He highlighted his World Cup experience with Germany, noting the loss to Paraguay in the round of 32 but describing the tournament as a valuable learning period. The goalkeeper also spoke about adapting to Istanbul, meeting club officials including Eduard Graf, and looking forward to connecting with supporters in the stadium. Ahead of the season, Beşiktaş will host two preseason friendlies in Austria – against MSV 2020 and Widzew Łódź – providing Nübel and the squad an early test of cohesion.
