Bulgaria launches defense business mission to US and tourism investment reforms
Bulgarian officials are pursuing new economic and industrial partnerships through international missions. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Alexander Pulev is leading a business delegation to Washington, D.C., from October 11–16. Organized by AmCham Bulgaria, the mission focuses on the defense and high-tech sectors, involving approximately 18 to 20 Bulgarian companies. The delegation aims to engage with American institutions and major corporations such as Lockheed Martin, SpaceX, and Boeing Defense to foster technological transfer and integrate Bulgarian enterprises into international production chains.
In a separate initiative, Tourism Minister Ilin Dimitrov announced at an interregional forum in Montenegro that Bulgaria is developing an accelerated mechanism for tourism investment. This plan seeks to streamline administrative processes and improve coordination between institutions to provide a more predictable environment for investors amid global uncertainty.
Additionally, Bulgarian leadership has expressed interest in attracting high-value American investments in sectors including artificial intelligence, space industry, and energy, emphasizing the country's potential to become a key part of global high-tech manufacturing chains.
