Elena Rybakina and Aryna Sabalenka set for US Open final

The US Open women's singles final will feature Elena Rybakina and Aryna Sabalenka. Rybakina secured her place in the final after a three-set comeback victory against Zheng Qinwen (3-6, 6-1, 6-4). This win also guarantees Rybakina will ascend to the world number one ranking, ending Aryna Sabalenka's 99-week reign at the top of the WTA.

Sabalenka reached the final by defeating Jessica Pegula in straight sets (7-5, 6-2). The upcoming championship match marks the first time since 1988 that Rybakina and Sabalenka will face each other in Grand Slam finals on hard courts in the same season. Sabalenka is aiming for her third consecutive US Open title.

In the men's draw, Alexander Zverev advanced to the semifinals after defeating Botic van de Zandschulp (6-2, 7-5, 6-1). Zverev will face Karen Khachanov in the next round. Earlier in the tournament, Carlos Alcaraz was eliminated by Ben Shelton in a five-set match.
