Flávio Bolsonaro faces Federal Police investigation into alleged money laundering
Presidential candidate Flávio Bolsonaro is facing a new Federal Police investigation into suspected money laundering involving online betting platforms. The inquiry, which has been assigned to Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes, examines potential financial links between the senator and attorney Willer Tomaz.
Investigators have reportedly identified files suggesting a financial relationship, including an email from 2025 requesting the removal of Bolsonaro’s name from an offshore account and records of international travel paid for by the attorney’s companies. Bolsonaro’s campaign has denied any wrongdoing, maintaining that his relationship with Tomaz is strictly personal and does not involve illicit benefits.
In a separate political development, Bolsonaro has criticized the current administration, claiming President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva owes his 2022 election victory to Justice Moraes. The candidate has also petitioned the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) for action against the “Exército do Lula” digital channel, alleging coordinated manipulation of social media.
