Alexandria and Eastern Egypt Water Companies Sign Cooperation Protocol
The Alexandria Sanitation Company and the Eastern (Al‑Sharqia) Water and Wastewater Company signed a protocol to exchange technical expertise and coordinate operations. The agreement was signed by Engineer Sami Qandil, chairman of the Alexandria firm, and Major General A.H. Engineer Mohamed Othman, chairman of the Eastern water company.
The protocol aims to improve the performance of water‑treatment and sewage systems through joint field visits, workshops, and staff exchanges. It covers areas such as operation and maintenance of treatment plants, asset management and the adoption of modern engineering practices. The partners also discussed an upcoming contract for the refurbishment and efficiency upgrade of the Al‑Sanafeen treatment plant in Al‑Sharqia.
Both parties emphasized that sharing knowledge and best practices will raise service quality for citizens and support sustainable development goals in the water sector.
