Alexandria clears over 10,000 tons of waste in two days under new sanitation leadership
Governor Ayman Attia announced a rapid boost to Alexandria’s sanitation system after the appointment of a new management team from Nahda Misr for Environmental Services. Within the first two days of intensified field work, crews removed 10,456 tons of solid waste across the city, a result of intensified collection, sweeping and removal operations coordinated with the Ministry of Local Development and the Environment.
In the following three days, the effort continued, with 227 tons cleared from the coastal road and a total of 15,700 tons lifted from neighborhoods such as Montazah, Al‑Mansheya and Al‑Mansoura. The governor urged residents to report illegal dumping and praised the expanded workforce and equipment for delivering visible improvements in street cleanliness during the summer tourist season.
