Alfa Romeo plans new Giulietta compact and Tonale SUV as part of 2030 model overhaul

Alfa Romeo, under Stellantis, is set to revamp its model range by 2030. The brand will introduce a new compact hatchback – a modern reinterpretation of the Giulietta – aimed at the competitive C‑segment. The design blends hatchback proportions with a slightly raised stance, retains the iconic trilobe grille and five‑spoke wheels, and targets younger buyers while preserving the brand’s sporty identity.

A successor to the Tonale SUV will also be produced at Stellantis’ Melfi plant on the STLA Medium platform, offering hybrid and electric powertrains and sharing components with other group models. Updates to the Giulia and Stelvio lines are also planned, though those remain in earlier development stages. The overall strategy seeks to strengthen Alfa Romeo’s presence in Europe’s key segments and support its electrification roadmap.
