Alfa Romeo unveils teaser for new C‑segment SUV planned for 2027

Alfa Romeo presented the first teaser image of a new C‑segment SUV, scheduled for official launch in the fourth quarter of 2027. The model, built on Stellantis’ STLA Medium platform, will be produced at the Melfi plant in Italy and will replace the Tonale, positioned between the existing Tonale and the future Stelvio (which will sit on the larger STLA Large architecture). The teaser, shown by Stellantis COO Emanuele Cappellano at Italy’s national automotive industry roundtable, reveals a coupe‑inspired rear and a new lighting signature. Power‑train options will include mild‑hybrid, plug‑in hybrid and fully electric variants, though not every version will be offered in all markets. Design work is done by Alfa Romeo’s Centro Stile in Turin. Santo Ficili, CEO of Alfa Romeo and Maserati, described the prototype as “already ready and very beautiful.” Production is set to begin late 2027, while the current Giulia and Stelvio will stay in production until then.
