Alfa Romeo updates Giulia and Stelvio for 2027

Alfa Romeo is implementing updates for the 2027 model year of the Giulia and Stelvio, focusing on enhanced technology, interior quality, and exterior styling. The lineup will be streamlined into four trims: Sprint, Veloce, Edizione Luna Rossa, and Quadrifoglio. High-performance Quadrifoglio models will feature a 2.9-litre twin-turbocharged V6, while other markets may receive 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol or 2.2-litre turbodiesel engines.

Regarding long-term strategy, Santo Ficili, CEO of Alfa Romeo and Maserati, stated that the future of the next-generation Giulia and Stelvio is currently under review. The company is reconsidering its initial strategy of moving exclusively to electric powertrains, opting instead for a flexible approach that balances emissions regulations with performance demands.

Looking ahead, Alfa Romeo plans to launch a new compact SUV between the C and D segments in early 2028, which will incorporate design elements from the Cuorerosso concept. Plans for a new Giulietta are also in development.
