Alfonsine: Stolen religious tabernacle recovered by Carabinieri

Carabinieri have recovered a religious tabernacle that was stolen from the Santuario della Madonna del Bosco in Alfonsine, Ravenna, during the night between September 25 and 26. The theft was discovered after intruders cut through window bars to enter the sanctuary, which had been closed since September 20.

The stolen item is an iron tabernacle featuring a mosaic decorated with gold-inlaid stones. While the tabernacle was found in an irrigation canal near the sanctuary and has been returned to the parish priest, the ciborium and communion holder that were kept inside it remain missing. Investigations are ongoing to identify the perpetrators and recover the remaining stolen goods.
