Alfonso Martínez Alcázar conducts Michoacán tour and meets with community leaders
Morelia Mayor Alfonso Martínez Alcázar has been conducting tours across the state of Michoacán to engage with various social and economic sectors. During visits to Uruapan and Zamora, Martínez met with women's groups and business leaders to discuss regional growth, security, and the challenges facing the agricultural sector.
In Morelia, Martínez held a meeting with representatives from indigenous communities, including those from Erongarícuaro, Pátzcuaro, Paracho, and Coeneo. The representatives discussed needs regarding autonomy, education, health, and security. Martínez emphasized the need for reconciliation between the state and indigenous peoples, criticizing current federal models that rely on handouts rather than active listening and development.
When questioned by the media regarding his potential candidacy in the 2027 elections, Martínez responded cryptically, stating, “As Juan Gabriel said, what is seen does not need to be asked.”
