Algarve landmarks shortlisted for New 7 Wonders while Vilalara Hotel clinches top beach award

A public vote during a live TVI broadcast in Olhão selected 14 regional finalists for the "Novas 7 Maravilhas de Portugal" contest. The shortlist includes the Castle of Aljezur, Fortaleza de Sagres, Marina de Portimão, the International Bridge over the Guadiana, the Museum of Portimão, the Palace of Estoi, the Olhão Markets and the Church of Santa Maria do Castelo in Tavira.

The Vilalara Grand Hotel Algarve was named Best Beach Hotel at the 21st Portugal Travel Awards, presented at the Hilton Vilamoura Resort & Spa. The award coincides with the resort's 60‑year anniversary and highlights its historic cliffside location in Porches, extensive gardens, sea‑water spa facilities and Michelin‑recommended dining.

Both events spotlight Algarve's growing profile in heritage promotion and luxury tourism.
