The victory of Castelo de Leiria is noted as symbolic following damage from Storm Kristin in January, with Leiria Mayor Gonçalo Lopes stating the distinction represents the territory’s determination to preserve its historical identity.

Prior to the final announcement, the Museu do Azeite in Bobadela reached the final stage in the 21st Century Architecture category, a milestone celebrated by the Mayor of Oliveira do Hospital, José Francisco Rolo, who highlighted the museum’s international appeal and regional importance.
